Public Transport

Where possible we would encourage you to use public transport to get to the RDS.

There are a number of park and ride facilities along the LUAS (see http://www.luas.ie/park-and-ride.php ) and the DART lines for you to use.

Please find below information on how to get to the RDS by public transport.

Travelling by Bus

The RDS Showground is serviced by bus routes number 5, 7 and 45, which stop outside the Main Hall Entrance to the RDS on Merrion Road. These bus services can be availed of on Nassau Street outside Trinity College.

You will find a timetable for route 5 here. You will find a timetable for route 7 here. You will find a timetable for route 45 here.

See also http://www.buseireann.ie/ and http://www.dublinbus.ie/.

Travelling by Local Train

Dublin DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) service also operates from the City Centre to Ballsbridge. Travel southbound to Lansdowne or Sandymount stations. The RDS is only a 10 minute walk from either station.

You will find a timetable for the DART here.

Travelling by Rail

Heuston and Connolly train stations are closest to the RDS and are approximately 6km and 4km away, respectively. For more information on times and routes see http://www.irishrail.ie/.

From the Airport

We advise all visitors arriving in Dublin by plane to use the Aircoach, which is running from outside the airport and brings you right to the RDS. Ask the driver for the RDS in Ballsbridge to ensure you are on the right bus. The fare is €7 for a single trip and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the RDS. For more information please visit http://www.aircoach.ie/.

Travelling by Road

The RDS is located less than two miles from Dublin City. The venue is surrounded by Merrion Road, Simmonscourt Road and Anglesea Road and has carparking for over 2000 cars plus drop off points for taxis and coaches. Parking costs €5 for the whole day.
